Eligibility Criteria

For Professors

Medical Candidates:

• 14 years of teaching and research experience in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining a qualifying degree (e.g., DM/M.Ch) or an equivalent qualification.
• 12 years of experience for candidates with a DM/M.Ch degree (2 years or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) or equivalent.
• 11 years of experience for candidates with a 3-year recognized DM/M.Ch degree.

Non-Medical Candidates:

• 14 years of teaching and research experience in a relevant discipline after obtaining a doctorate degree.

Publications:

• Applicants should have at least 10 indexed research publications.

For Assistant Professors

Medical Candidates (General Specialties):

• 3 years of teaching and research experience in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining a qualifying degree (e.g., MD/MS) or an equivalent qualification.

Super-Specialty Disciplines:

• 1 year of teaching and research experience in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining a DM/M.Ch degree (2 years or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) or equivalent. No experience is required for candidates with a 3-year recognized DM/M.Ch degree.

Non-Medical Candidates:

• 3 years of teaching and research experience in a relevant discipline after obtaining a doctorate degree.

General Conditions:

1. The engagee shall also be entitled to House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable in-service candidates upon meeting the conditions of the extant rules and orders on the subject.
2. The conditions provided under the notification governing their engagement shall not be at variance with any other monetary benefits, which the Department of Research & Publications may deem appropriate.
3. Engaged on these posts shall be put on Teaching and Research duties and shall not be assigned any administrative duties at any level, below/ the position of HOD and Head of the Unit
4. The engagement under these rules shall not have any preferential claim for regularization during normal process of selection/ appointment.
5. The services of an engaged under these rules shall be terminable before the expiry of the term of engagement with one month’s prior notice from either side, or on payment of one month’s salary in lieu of notice period.
6. The engagee under these rules shall have to give an undertaking with the SKIMS on this count.
7. The engagee engaged shall also be involved in any kind of private practice during the term of engagement in the institute or elsewhere and shall follow the instructions/ standing orders issued by the Director and/or the Administrative of the Institute.
8. The engagee shall report to the unit Head/ HOD who in return will submit their performance appraisal report to Director, through Administrative Registrar (Academics) through proper channels for periodic evaluation and further continuation/extension of their term as per the evaluation conducted by not the appropriate Competent Authority of the Institute.
9. The engagee shall provide a character and antecedent verification report of Police/ Magistrate and an Affidavit duly attested by 1st Class Judicial Magistrate affirming, that the engaged Doctor has no criminal records enforced against him.
10. The engagee can have teaching experience and academic arrangement be terminated on attaining 68 years of age.
11. The engagee engaged under these rules shall to abide by the rules and regulations of SKIMS, Srinagar along with original testimonials and other relevant documents within ten days from their date of joining.
12. The engagee shall be governed by the medical fitness certificate duly signed by the J&K Civil Surgeon.
13. The entrance of the performance appraisal reports from time to time for continued engagement under these rules will be contingent on handing over / submission of periodical performance report by the concerned Head of the Unit through the proper channel and approved by the Competent Authority of the Institute.
14. The service engagement and extension of services will not confer any preferential equal to the benefits available to persons appointed on regular basis and during normal process of selection.
15. The engaged on academic arrangement basis shall by itself stand terminated after the inclement of 68 years.

Instructions for applying through online mode: –

• The necessary instructions for filling-up of online application forms and submission of fee
• details (Rs.500/=) will be available on official website of SKIMS, www.skims.ac.in.
• A link for online filling-up of detailed application form will be available with effect from
• 26.11.2024. The window for all such activities will open from 26.11.2024 and shall apply only to eligible candidates.
• Eligible candidates are required to upload the following self-attested relevant documents in PDF file only:
• Requisite educational qualification Certificate as per eligibility criteria (NMC notification).
• Marks cards of all examination of MBBS issued by respective Universities.
• Internee completion certificate issued by concerned competent authority.
• Medical registration certificate issued by concerned competent authority.
• Date of birth certificate.
• The candidate is also required to upload the duly recent photograph, signature & certificates in the following format:
• Supported formats of the image include jpegs, jpg, gif, png.
• Size of photographs and signature should be between 200-300px.
• File size of photograph and signature must be between 20-50kb
• The online applications are required to have a valid email address/contact number, aligned
• daily usage as such email/ contact number/ will receive necessary communication/information, from time to time.
• The e-mail address/ contact details mentioned in the online application form must remain valid
• for at least six months subsequent to the prescribed last date for submission of online from.
• The applicants must check the e-mail inbox interventions regarding their skims applications from time to fime SKIMS hall bearno responsibility in case of failure.

Other Conditions

In addition to the conditions mentioned above,:

• The original documents must be submitted by the candidate at the time of joining and the same shall be verified subsequently. the SKIMS shall take legal action as deemed fit, if any information furnished by any candidate is found incorrect at any point of time.
• For the ease to travel, onle candidates need to visit their examination centre/venue comance on examination date, except otherwise provided in alert examination eonaltions.
• Information related to the written examination will be uploaded on official website of SKIMS in due course of time.
• The candidate is further advised to bring hard copies of their online forms duly ink signed by the applicant along with self-attested copies of all/any relevant documents.
• The application generated exclusively and without valid passport size photograph will not be entertained and shall be liable for rejection.
• The candidate shall not be involved in offering illegal gratification directly and indirectly inconsistent during the examination.
• All the terms and conditions etc as mentioned in the advertisement notification with the company hereby notify.
• The candidature shall be purely temporarily initially for a specific period.

Note: All litigation related to or arising out of this advertisement notification shall be subject to jurisdiction of J&K High Court (Srinagar).
